These includes; giving advice on minor illness, performing health checks, monitoring blood pressures, on-going diabetic and chronic disease management administering routine childhood and travel immunisations, syringing ears and renewing dressings.

Immunisations

Appointments for immunisations (childhood and travel) should be booked with the practice nurse.

Duty Doctor Service

For patients with urgent medical need, the Duty Doctor service is available Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and Bank holidays) between the hours of 08.00 and 18.30.

  1. Phone the surgery and explain to reception that you have an urgent problem
  2. Reception can then put you on the Duty Doctor list
  3. The Duty Doctor will ring you back within 2 hours
  4. The Duty Doctor will decide with you what you need, which could be:
  • Advice over the phone
  • An appointment at the surgery
  • A home visit if you are really not well
  • A referral to another service

This service offers you quick access to your GP practice, where they know you and have your full medical record. We recommend this service instead of going to A&E at the hospital.

Test Results

The best time to ring for the results of blood, urine or X-ray tests is after 12 noon.

Sexual Health Service

We offer limited sexual health service at the practice. However we are able to refer you to the appropriate clinic upon request.

Please see attachment for more information on the service we offer at our practice or local hub.
